Mary Wanda Sumner, 82, of Omega passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at her daughter's residence. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. Sumner at a later date.
Born November 7, 1941, in Omega, Ms. Sumner was the daughter of the late Charlie Lee Sumner and Lula Belle Shannon Sumner. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Howard Sumner, Elwood Sumner, T. S. Sumner and Rudolph Sumner; and one sister, Faye Sumner Watson. Before retiring, she was a registered nurse; and she was a member of Life Tabernacle in Tifton. She loved her Lord and Savior; and she fully supported Bro. William Branham’s ministry through Voice of God Recordings. She loved farm living and loved cooking and canning. She was “a true Southern lady” and enjoyed doing for others.
Ms. Sumner is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Michael Ivey; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Sandra Sumner of Omega; one sister, Valda Rowan of Omega; and numerous nieces and nephews.
