Eileen Mahoney
Retired Tewksbury Public Schools Administrative Assistant

Eileen (Richardson) Mahoney, age 73, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, following a brief illness.

She was the beloved wife of Kevin T. Mahoney, with whom she would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on June 30, 2024.

Born in Boston on December 1, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth S. Richardson and the late Eleanor R. (Mahoney) Richardson.

Eileen attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1968. Following high school, she attended Bryant and Stratton Junior College, where she received her associate degree.

Eileen worked at the Mitre Corporation in Bedford, MA where she met her husband, Kevin. Prior to her retirement in 2012, Eileen worked as an administrative assistant at the Dewing School in Tewksbury.

In her spare time, she loved vacationing in New Hampshire and Maine, taking family trips to Disney World with her grandchildren, attending and hosting family gatherings, and being “Nana” to her special loves.

In addition to her husband, Eileen is survived by two children, Colleen P. Barrasso, of Tewksbury and Daniel Mahoney and his wife Joanna, of Andover, her grandchildren, Andrew and Lyla Barrasso, Claire, Audrey and Rory Mahoney, three brothers, Kenneth S. Richardson, Jr. and his wife Linda, of Wilmington, Robert M. Richardson and his wife Donna, of Dracut, and John M. Richardson and his wife Anne, of Tamworth, NH. She leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close and wonderful friends.

Calling hours are Wednesday, May 22nd from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Thursday, May 23rd, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route, 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury.
