MEREDITH ---- Pearl Violet Obrien passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Forestview Manor Nursing Home in Meredith with family by her side.
Pearl celebrated her 105th birthday on April 25 with nieces, great-niece and great-great-niece and her Forestview family. She enjoyed the ice cream, balloons and decorations on her special day.
Pearl was in Vermont and later lived and worked as a nurse in New York City. After retirement, Pearl continued to help others including volunteering with veterans and seniors. She and her husband Richard traveled extensively in Europe and loved to spend time with her siblings and their families. After the death of her husband, Pearl moved to Manchester to be closer to family, and in later years went to live at Forestview Manor assisted living, where she spent the remainder of her life
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Obrien, her sister June Gurall, brothers Calvin Batchelder, Harold Hanaford and George Murphy. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and their families who will miss her dearly.
Anyone who knew Pearl would agree that she was one of the most positive people on earth, making the best of any situation. She lived life to the fullest and made an impression on everyone she met.
A special thank you goes out to the wonderful staff at Forestview Manor Nursing Home. It was obvious she was loved and well cared for there. They were a second family to her. Thank you to Lakes Region Hospice who also provided care in her last weeks.
The family will have a private celebration of life.
