Evelynne earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Elementary School Education. She was a resident of Bridgewater, MA. Evelynne had a passion for teaching, needlepoint and genealogy.
Evelynne’s classroom was more than a place of learning—it was a sanctuary where young minds flourished. She taught various subjects, igniting curiosity and fostering critical thinking. Her students didn’t just memorize facts; they absorbed her enthusiasm for knowledge.
After long days in the classroom, you could often find Evelynne on the couch with a needlepoint and a cold drink. Long hours of patient progress transformed into works of art that hung for decades on the wall, a comforting visual reminder that you were home.
Evelynne’s passion for genealogy was woven into her life. During summers and weekends, Evelynne delved into archives, old photographs, and dusty records. She pieced together her family tree, unearthing tales of resilience, migration, and love.
Evelynne was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Richard P. Edgerly, parents Charles L. Hattaway and Ida A. (Edmands) Hattaway, as well as her brother Charles L. Hattaway Jr. and his wife Carole L. (Coumans) Hattaway.
Evelynne is survived by her daughters: Dianna L. Edgerly of Bridgewater, MA, Joanna L. (Edgerly) White and her husband Timothy White of Rowley, MA, and Susanna L. (Edgerly) Girard and her husband Albert J Girard II of Attleboro, MA.
Evelynne was a beloved grandmother to her five grandchildren: Caitlin, Thomas, and Adam White all of Rowley, MA, and Albert (AJ) and Holly Girard of Attleboro, MA.
Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
