Judith Swormstedt Baer (Hodgdon), 89, of Rye, NH, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Webster of Rye. The daughter of John and Ruth (Prescott) Swormstedt, she was born August 18,1934 in Laconia, NH.
Judith was predeceased by her husband, James F. Hodgdon Jr.,1975 and by her husband, Thomas W. Baer, 2017.
She is survived by her son Timothy Hodgdon of Concord; son David and his wife JoAnn Hodgdon of Rye; daughter Tracey and her husband Michael Sapowicz of Bradenton, FL, sister, Jackie Swormstedt Doherty, and sister-in-law Carol Hodgdon Cassidy. She was predeceased by sister Jan Cullerot and her husband Norm, and sister Margeret Swormstedt.
Judy treasured being a military wife and travelling the world. She was an avid volunteer with the American Red Cross, loved music, singing, and taught guitar lessons. Judy’s family legacy lives on through her children and 13 grandchildren from their combined families, all of whom were a source of joy as she watched them grow, learn, and mature into lives of their own.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 21 at 11AM at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry Road, East Derry, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.
