Ms. Susan C. (Abbott) Rousseau, 73, of Methuen, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at High Pointe House (Hospice) in Haverhill. The daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Downes) Abbott, she was born in Lawrence and had been an area resident all her life. Susan grew up playing the piano, which led to her love of music. Especially Barry Manilow! She also deeply enjoyed a fine cup of coffee, a delicious ice cream cone filled with rainbow sherbert (always in a cone!) and loved various sitcoms and repeatedly watched episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and Friends. Susan had an infectious laugh that made everyone around her laugh with her. She would crack herself up with the jokes she made. Susan worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and loved to nurture people. She loved spending time with family and friends. She overcame many struggles in her life, giving her the strength to courageously fight cancer for many months. She appreciated all the support from family, friends and the medical community. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her sister Carol Felides and Carol’s husband William. Susan is survived by her brother Charles Abbott, his wife Donna of Ocala, FL., her two sisters, Diane Vaccari and her husband Rick of New Boston, NH and Joan Calder and her husband Doug of Sandown, NH. She is also survived by two daughters: Stacey Abbott and her boyfriend Christopher Fluet of Methuen, MA, Rochelle Burnham-Rousseau and her wife Jennifer of Bellingham, MA, three sons: Alfred Rousseau Jr. and his girlfriend Celeste Provost of Belleview, FL, Jesse Hoyt of Epping, NH, and Jamie Hoyt and his wife Kathi of Derry, NH. There are eleven grandchildren: Joey Laboy, Shawn Gagne, Danielle Rousseau, Katelynn Flanagan, Alfred Rousseau, Johnathan Hoyt, Tessa Rousseau, Samanatha Hoyt, Timothy Hoyt, and Johnathan Rousseau, five great-grandchildren: Noah and Caroline Laboy and Joseph, Dylan and Olivia Rousseau and many nieces and nephews.
