David Andrew Hatcher passed away at his home on May 10, 2024 at the age of 68.
David was born to the late Jesse and Hortense Hatcher in the small mountainous town of Floyd, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gail Hatcher whom he loved and adored, his brother Curtis Hatcher, his sister Hazel Sonner, nephew Tony Sonner and brother-in-law Lonnie Yates.
David grew up on a dairy farm in rural Virginia. He is survived by his brother Russell Hatcher (Paulette), sisters Alice Yates and Mary Meadows (Randall). Nieces Debbie, Sharon, Stacey and Nephews Warren, Michael, Jeff and Chad.
David had many talents. He was a certified electrician, automobile mechanic, and welder. He spent many years working at Southern Veneer in Fitzgerald, Ga where he retired from. He loved working on cars, playing with his dogs, and being outdoors surrounded by nature. His best friend was his little dog, Buddy. One thing that all his family knew for sure, and probably his friends too, was that David was a Chevrolet man!
