Kathleen M. “Kathie” Fischer, 74, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Monday May 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. She was born on September 5, 1949 in Somerville, MA, daughter of the late Robert “Bibsy” Walsh and Geraldine (Larkin) Walsh. Kathie spent many years as a senior security specialist for the Department of Defense, retiring with several awards and achievements.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James H. Fischer of Londonderry. They began their journey together August 21, 1981. Kathleen also leaves behind two daughters, Jaime K. Ruggiero, of Goffstown, NH and Kimberly A. Fischer, of Hooksett, NH; one son, Joel R. DiGregorio and his wife, Rebecca DiGregorio, of Manchester, NH; three grandchildren, Brendan Reid, of Saco, ME, Nicholas Ruggiero and Ava Ruggiero, both of Goffstown, NH; one sister, Paula A. Hyde of Saugus, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by one sister, Geraldine “Babe” Joslin and her two brothers, Michael Eskholme and Robert Walsh.
Kathie will be remembered as a generous, hardworking, compassionate woman who knew exactly who she was, and used experience, life lessons and hard work to achieve her successful career, as well as a college education later in life. She generously donated to several charities on a regular basis, being most passionate about the Feeding America organization and American Cancer Society.
Kathie was a lifelong Patriots fan and looked forward to watching them play. She enjoyed and was so proud of all her grandchildren, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She passed away as she lived- with strength, grace, dignity- and by being well prepared. Per her wishes, there will be a small mass and gathering with immediate family.
