Elena (Correnti) Carroll, age 92, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on the evening of Mother’s Day, May 12, 2024 at Copley at Stoughton after visiting with her children. She was the former wife of the late Albert Carroll. Elena was born in the North End of Boston, a daughter of the late Antonino and Crucifissa (Morreale) Correnti.
As a young child Elena attended Christopher Columbus School in the North End of Boston. When the family moved to Dorchester, Elena attended the Champlain School and later graduated from Dorchester High School. After high school graduation she received her beautician’s license from LeBaron Hairdressing Academy in Brockton and later attended Massasoit Community College. For many years, she owned Elena’s Touch of Elegance in East Taunton.
Elena enjoyed ballroom dancing, painting and travelling with her late companion, Bill Costa. She also loved cooking and shopping. Most importantly, Elena will be remembered as a strong willed and compassionate woman who loved being with her family. Her beloved dog Tommy brought her many years of comfort and companionship.
Elena was the loving mother of Rick Carroll and his companion Patty Florio of Raynham, Christina Carroll Banks and her husband John of East Taunton, Kathleen Carroll and her companion Joe Lupica of Raynham. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Denise Carroll Perry and Denise’s husband Harold. Affectionately referred to as “Mama”, she leaves her grandchildren Tonya Perry Noonan, Eric Banks, Marissa Banks Bois, January Pacheco, Ryan Carroll, Michael Pielech, and Mallory Carroll Anderson and great grandchildren: Alyssa and Amber Banks, Isabella Pacheco, Gabrielle and Mila Bois, Kairi, Haven and Willow Anderson, Michael Pielech, Jr. and Shayna Pielech. Mama Elena was welcomed into Heaven by her infant great granddaughter, Victoria Pielech. Elena’s children Rick, Christina and Kathy are at peace knowing that Elena is now reunited with their cherished sister Denise who is forever in their hearts.
She was the last remaining sister in her large Italian family and always fondly remembered her departed siblings: Anthony Correnti, Carmela Anzaldi, Nina Correnti, Frances DiBari and Frannie DiMuzio. She was the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton on Monday May 20, 2024 from 8:30am to 10am followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton. After Mass, burial will be in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
