GILFORD ---- Patricia Ann Burke, 79, of Wesley Way, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Concord Hospital in Laconia.
Patricia was born on October 19, 1944, in Boston, MA, the daughter of Arthur Babcock, Sr. and Ruth (Clark) Babcock.
Patricia, known as ‘Patty’ to all who knew and loved her, grew up in Mattapan and graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1962. Patty was a registered nurse who graduated from the Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing in Jamaica Plain, MA with the class of 1966, and placed first in her class academically. She and her husband, Chris, moved to NH in 1969 and raised four children in Hampton and Alton.
During that time, Patty worked at the Exeter Hospital and most recently at the Wolfeboro Area Children’s Center as Staff Nurse and Infant Toddler Coordinator. Patty loved everyone, but especially children, and particularly babies. After retirement she missed all of the children. And, so, she went back to work as a ‘lunch lady’ at the Alton Central School for another eleven years. Patty loved that job because of all the hugs she got every day. Patty loved flower gardening, counted cross-stich embroidery, dancing and playing card games. Her sweet and loving personality will be greatly missed – always.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Christopher J. Burke, Jr., sons Robert D. Burke and Darin M. Burke, daughter Jannis E. Murphy, thirteen grandchildren, brothers Arthur J. Babcock, Jr. and Raymond P. Babcock, and sisters Janice Lydon and Nancy R. Stewart. In addition to her parents, Patricia is predeceased by her son Stephen C. Burke.
There will be no calling hours.
