Obituary

Nicodemo Patrizio, age 90, passed away on May 11th, surrounded by his loving and caring family. Nicodemo was the beloved husband of the late Angela (Ientile) Patrizio. He was born in Grotteria, Reggio Calabria, Italy, the son of the late Salvatore and Maria Patrizio.

In 1963, Nicodemo and Angela settled in Woburn to raise their family. Nick, as he liked to be called, provided for his family by working in construction and as a mason for the city of Woburn. During his retirement, Nick delighted in being a crossing guard at the Malcolm White school, as well as spending time chatting with neighbors, gardening, and winemaking. During the colder weather, Nick loved grilling sausages on the wood stove, watching the Godfather, and listening to Italian music. For many years he was an active member of the Appian Club in Stoneham, where he enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and attending functions. Most importantly, Nick was a devoted husband who took care of his wife throughout her lengthy illness prior to her passing in 2019.

As a proud Italian, Nick will be fondly remembered for his strong work ethic and great faith which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Their accomplishments were his successes.

Nicodemo is survived by his devoted children, Maria Linehan and her husband Wayne of Tewksbury, Rosalba Smith and her husband James of Burlington, Liliana Litle and her husband David of Lynn, Salvatore Patrizio and his wife Lynne of Woburn. He was the loving grandfather of Lisa Dobie, Stephanie Bourgeois, Michelle Hogg, Steven Linehan, Sophia and Nicholas Litle, Sabrina and Michael Patrizio. He is also survived by six loving great grandchildren. Brother of the late Pasquale Patrizio and Francesca Buttiglieri. Brother-in-law of Cathy Carella and husband Vincent, Rita Gibson, Elaine Ientile and her late husband Joseph, the late Maria Fulciniti, Mario and Gina Carabetta. Further survived by many nieces and nephews. He also maintained very close relationships with his family and friends in Italy, Australia, Canada, and Connecticut.
