LACONIA ---- Vincent Kuharic, 76, of Taylor Community in Laconia, and formerly of Meredith, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Vincent led an adventurous life. He grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was a race-winning cross-country runner in his younger days. He was an Eagle Scout and remained active in the organization throughout his life. He became a ski bum at Sugarbush in Vermont in the late 60s where he earned $1 a day plus room and board as a chalet caretaker. He graduated from St. Vincent’s College in Pennsylvania. He started a school fundraising business and traveled to and made pioneering business deals in China just as it opened trade to the West. The company Vince cofounded with his wife, Goals Inc., employed dozens of sales reps and helped thousands of youth sports and school groups raise needed funds in the 80s and 90s.
Vinny, as he was affectionately known, loved New Hampshire. After moving here in the early 80s, he worked to preserve and restore historic barns; produce maple syrup; and loved to plunge headfirst into the cool waters of Lake Winnipesaukee from his beloved motorboat, which he used to explore the region with his family. He passed along many life lessons and passions to his two sons.
Vincent is survived by his two sons Patrick (Val) Kuharic and Matthew (Tesia) Kuharic; former spouse Maureen Kuharic; sisters Anne (Alexander) Robertson and Patricia Strobel; brother James (Sandy) Kuharic; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will remain private. Vince loved to plant Elm trees. In remembrance of him, consider planting a new plant or sowing a new seed of hope for the future.
