Westborough – Barry M. Okun, 70, of Westborough and formerly of Canton, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after a short illness.
Barry was born in Boston, son of the late Frank Okun and Genevieve (Portman) Okun and is survived by two sons, Edward “Ted” Okun and his partner, Michelle Kaplan of Great Barrington, MA and Andru Okun of New Orleans, LA; a daughter, Emily Osgood and her husband Stephen of Trumbull, CT; a brother, Marc Okun and his wife Carol of Rochester, MA; a sister Susan Kulesza and her husband, Kenny of Higganum, CT; two grandchildren, Rowan Osgood and Nami Osgood and many and many other family members that miss him dearly.
Barry graduated from Newton South High School and was an accomplished self-employed photographer. He enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle, attending live music performances and enjoying a good meal. He will always be remembered as a loving family man and for his willingness to help anyone in need.
A celebration of Barry’s life will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 1 Peters Farm Way, Westborough in the community center, please arrive at 1pm. Contributions in his name may be made to The American Diabetes Association or the Great Barrington Rotary, PO Box 565 Great Barrington, MA 01230.
