CHICOPEE ~ Madeline J. Maturo, 82, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born at Grace Hospital in New Haven Connecticut, on June 4, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late Albert and Madeline (Eramo) Maturo Bassett. She was raised and schooled in Hamden, Connecticut. She furthered her education and received a Certificate in Cosmetology from Galmar Cosmetology School in North Haven, Connecticut. She later lived in North Carolina before moving to Chicopee in 2020. She was last employed as an Administrative Assistant at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking for her family, spending time as a dog rescuer and feeding her birds. She leaves her three children, Michael F. Lawlor Jr., and Daniel P. Lawlor and his wife, Dawn, all of Chicopee, and Mark V. Lawlor and his wife, Danielle, of Durham, CT; her eleven grandchildren, Michael Lawlor III, Anthony Lawlor, Matthew Lawlor, Robert Lawlor, Jessica Fraulo and her husband, Vincent, Brianna Lawlor and her partner, Nick Robinson, Brandon Lawlor, Bridget Lawlor, Benjamin Lawlor, Blain Lawlor and Sean Lawlor; her five great-grandchildren, Valentina Lawlor, Charlie Lawlor, Vincent Fraulo, Nicholas Fraulo, and Oakley Robinson; her eleven siblings, Albert Maturo, Priscilla Mosher, Kenneth Maturo, Ronald Maturo, Robert Maturo, Rocco Maturo, Linda McKenzie, Cheryl Maturo, Renee Westerfield, Susan Santana and Philip Maturo; her former husband, Michael F. Lawlor Sr., of Springfield, NH; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members. She will be sadly missed by her canine “fur babies” Rascal and Earl.
