Peggy Sue Sumner Busbin, 83, of Tifton passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at her residence. A private family graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Busbin at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate.
Mrs. Busbin’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born on April 4, 1941, in Tift County, Mrs. Busbin was the daughter of the late Tom Watson Sumner and Rinnie Thompson Sumner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene “Buddy” Busbin, Sr.; one son, Tommy Lee Busbin; two daughters, Joy Busbin and Sherry Ann Potts; one brother, William James “Billy” Sumner; and one sister, Lillian Fletcher. She was a retired nurse; and she was a member of Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Brookfield.
Mrs. Busbin is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Sharon Busbin and Bobby John and Jere Busbin, all of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Lenard Chambless and Jessica and Heath Carmichael, all of Tifton and Judy and Bruce Larson of Illinois; one sister, Nellie Jo Franks; 14 grandchildren, Ches Chambless, Matt Chambless, Cruz Chambless, Leighann Busbin, Bobby Lee Larson, JoJo Larson, Callie Larson, Jacob Potts, Luke Potts, Sumner Carmichael, Will Carmichael, Charlie Carmichael, Lagan Busbin Chambless and Lindy Busbin; and eight great-grandchildren, Blake Chambless, Madison Chambless, Aiden Larson, Clark Larson, Mylee Chambless, J. H. Chambless, Penny Sokoloski and Allison Chambless.
