Obituary

DUDLEY – Norman H. Desrosiers, Jr., 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Notre Dame Health Care in Worcester after a period of declining health.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Barbara A. (Vesho) Desrosiers; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Desrosiers of Auburn; 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Emily; a sister, Suzanne Lessard of Berlin; 2 sisters-in-law, Constance Bailey of Westborough and Susan McDonald of Webster; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Desrosiers in 2012, by his sister Jeanne M. Wheeler in 1999, and by his roommate Norman Gagne in January.

He was born on February 13, 1941 in Worcester, the son of Norman H. Desrosiers, Sr. and Laurette (Berube) Desrosiers and attended Worcester Boys’ Trade School. He moved to Dudley in 1982. In his youth, he was an altar boy at the former Saint Joseph Church, now Holy Family Parish, on Hamilton Street

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

A maintenance technician, Mr. Desrosiers was the manager of the welding department at PRECO Company in Auburn. He then set up the shop at James Monroe Wire & Cable in Franklin before retiring in 2006. He gave his all to his work.

Norman was a devoted family man and loving husband. He always thought of others before himself. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Maine with his friend Fred Brunelle for many years.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 14, in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 37 Lake Parkway, Webster. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster, with the military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
