Joann J. (Arruda) Duponte, (Momma Jo) 69, of Westport Ma, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at home. She was the wife of the late Theophilo W. Duponte.
Joann Duponte was born in Tiverton RI , and raised on Arruda’s Dairy Farm. The daughter of the late Manuel and Eleanor (Whittaker) Arruda. Joann was a long time Westport resident. She worked for 40 years as a school bus driver for the Town of Swansea, a job she truly loved.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with Helene and Rick and nieces Megan Rines, and Jessica StLaurent, along with their children Emerson, Maddison, Alivia (Liv), and William.
She was Survived by her 2 daughters: Jean Ann Anctil of Florida, Jennifer Santos and her husband Greg of Dighton Ma; her son: James A. Anctil; a brother: Darrell (John) Arruda of Fall River Ma; she has 3 Grandchildren: Joey, Jessica and Tiffany; 3 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews,
She was the sister of the late Joseph Arruda, Karen Arruda, Kathaleen Arruda.
