Obituary

John R. Williams, 81, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Saturday May 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in the Arbors of Bedford, NH. He was born on February 12, 1943 in Lansdowne, PA, a son of the late John and Ellen (Powell) Williams, and had been a resident of Londonderry for the past two years, formerly of York, ME and Sudbury, MA.

John graduated from Lansdowne High School, received a B.A from Penn State University and an M.B.A from Boston College. He was a Senior Lecturer in the Executive M.B.A program at Suffolk University and a part-time faculty member at Worcester Polytech Institute’s School of Industrial Management. He also taught a Junior Achievement Business program in the Framingham and Cambridge school districts for 8th Graders and an Applied Economics Course for 12th graders. John was employed as an Executive Director for Commonwealth Energy System for 25 years.

John proudly served his country in the US Navy completing two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal. He also volunteered his time to coach Pop Warner Football, CYO Basketball, Little League Baseball in Sudbury, MA and High School Football in York, Maine. In retirement, he took up scuba diving and traveled regularly, diving many of the best known and most exotic destinations in the world.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Beverly (Morey) Williams of Londonderry; two sons, Brendon Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Matthew Williams and his wife Leslie of Londonderry, three grandchildren Ryan, Annie and Miles and his sister Judith Williams-Rice of Abingdon, MD.
