Daniel F. DiGiacomo, Jr., “Danny D”, of Medford passed away on May 4, 2024. He was 80 years old. Daniel was the beloved companion to Elena Covino of Malden. Born in Malden, he was the cherished son of the late Helen T. (Hosford) and Daniel F. DiGiacomo Sr.
Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962 to 1966. He was employed by the Teamsters Union, Local 25 as a truck driver. Daniel was an avid bowler and was a member of many leagues. Some of Daniel’s hobbies included filling in crosswords and putting together puzzles. Daniel was a member of the VFW Post #7677 of Medford.
Daniel was the devoted father of Denise M. Grieco and her husband Augusto of Medford, and Daniel S. DiGiacomo and his wife Amy of Thornton, NH. He was the adored “Papa D” to Anthony and Isabella Grieco and Cameron, Kyle and Caiden DiGiacomo. Daniel was the dear brother of Ruth Toomey of Malden and late Joan Picardi.
A funeral service will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, May 9, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 8, from 4-8PM.
Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
