Obituary

Holden: Robert P. "Bob" Arvidson, 76, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health at UMASS University Campus, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 5th, 2024.

Born and raised in Worcester, Bob was the son of the late Alfred and S. Olivia Arvidson. Bob graduated from North High School class of 1965. He served in the Army National Guard and retired from Morgan Construction Company after a long career as a Machinist. Bob was an avid Boston Bruins fan, a passion he shared with his children and grandchildren. Bob was happiest spending his time with his family, furbabies and friends at his Summer home on Rocky Bound Pond in Croydon N.H. He also enjoyed vacationing at Hampton Beach and Sanibel Island, Florida.

Bob is predeceased by the love of his life of 54 years, Mary (Welch) Arvidson. His sister Marilyn Hogan and his sister-in-law Virginia Gosler. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his 3 children, daughter Kristina Killoran and her husband Richard Jr. of Holden, son Michael Arvidson and his wife Amy of Holden and his daughter Karen Cloutier and her husband Craig of Worcester. 6 grandchildren, Timothy Killoran, Paige, Lauren and Michael Jr. Arvidson, Ashley and Aidan Cloutier. He also leaves his brother-in-law Robert Welch and his wife Cindy of Worcester and brother-in-law Jack Welch and his wife Karen of Rutland, many nieces, nephews, cherished friends and his grand-fur babies.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday May 11, 2024 from 9:30-10:30am in Nordgren Memorial Chapel,300 Lincoln Street Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 10:30am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Worcester Animal Rescue League.
