Elizabeth "Betty" (Travers) Lee, of Needham, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving children. A mother, and grandmother, Betty was known for her warm spirit and sharp wit.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward and their daughter Marcia. She is survived by her devoted children: Michael Lee of Malden, Brian Lee and his wife Sooyung Moon of Arlington, Patty McNulty and her husband Ted of Hopkinton, and Diane Roberts and her husband Tim of Needham.
Betty was a cherished sister to John Travers and his wife Bernadine of Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her sisters Marguerite “Peg” Bohmiller and Eileen Downing.
Betty's legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Veronica Lee, Alex Lee, Joey McNulty, Allison McNulty, Mark Roberts, and Stephen Roberts.
Betty touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Saturday, May 11, from 8:30-9:30am followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 1382 Highland Ave. Needham, at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Community Council, needhamcouncil.org where she volunteered for many years.
