Marjorie Keen, 81, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at her daughter’s residence in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Joey Boney officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Wilcox County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Mrs. Keen was born October 16, 1942, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Mitchell Morgan and the late Louise Peace Marcantel. She attended Valdosta High School and was a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. Her favorite title, perhaps, was that of Nee Nee and she cherished the bond she had with her only grandson, Brady. She was a faithful volunteer and participant at the Ben Hill County Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed playing Bingo and socializing with her friends. She was a long-standing member of Siloam Baptist Church where she was the Sunday counter and taught the Children’s Sunday school class for many years.
She is survived by her children: Cathy Posey of Fitzgerald, Scott Galbraith & Sheryl of Valdosta and Lena Wells & Brandon of Valdosta; her grandson, Brady Wells; a brother, Ray Marcantel & Becky of Valdosta; a sister-in-law, Laverne Morgan of Valdosta along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her [parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Keen; a son, Richie Galbraith; her twin sister, Margaret Williams; and a brother, Douglas Morgan.
