DELTONA, FL ----- Penelope A. Joki, ‘Penny’, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the age of 83.
Born March 9, 1941, to Leo and Dorothy Tessier. Penny was the beloved wife of the late James H. Joki Sr., and predeceased by her father, mother, brothers Donald, Leo and John, sisters Lorraine Pavilaitis and Bernadette Rich.
Penny leaves behind a legacy of love. Survived by her five children, Kathleen Jackson, Maryanne Hardy, Robert Hardy Jr, his wife Renee, James Hardy and his wife Jennifer, Patricia Hardy, stepson James Joki Jr. brother Peter and sister Marylou Kurtz. Penny was cherished by her 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Penny's life was a testament to her nurturing spirit and unwavering love. She was a dedicated mother and exceptional grandmother who enriched the lives of those around her with kindness and wisdom.
In 2005 Penny & Jim packed their belongings and headed to the sunshine state. For the past 20 years they built the life they always dreamt of. She loved living in Florida with her husband Jim. They built a home, a beautiful life and embraced the warm Florida sun. A true New England girl who never lost her passion for the Boston sports teams. She would often call north for updates on Patriots games when not televised in FL. Her favorite place was the beach, any beach. She loved the warmth of the sun, fishing, walking and boating. She loved surrounding herself with family and the occasion solitude of the patio listening to the pool gurgle while Celine Dion played in the background. She had an exceptional talent for knitting and spent hours crafting gorgeous clothes and blankets for her family.
Penny will be fondly remembered and profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith and family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Penny's life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:30am, at The Stone Chapel, 38 Main St, Brookline NH, followed by a graveside ceremony.
A reception at a later date will be announced.
