Maria A. (Ferrara) Giorgio 60, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Wednesday May 1, 2024 at Milford Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Michael R. Giorgio, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.
Born June 10, 1963, in Norwood, a daughter of Cristina E. (Colace) Ferrara of Franklin and the late Pietro "Pete" Ferrara, she was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
She was raised and educated in Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School Class of 1981. She then continued her education at Blaines Beauty School in Boston where she received her degree in cosmetology.
For over 35 years Maria was the proud owner of Hair Mania of Franklin. As soon as you entered into her shop she made you feel like family. She was also a cantor at St. Mary's Church, Franklin.
Maria had a heart of gold and adored her family, friends, and clients.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cherished son's, Vincenzo M. Giorgio and his wife Kris of Chelmsford and Marco R. Giorgio and his wife Carly of Bellingham, sisters, Valentina M. Kinch and her husband William of Michigan, Giannina A. DeGaetano and her husband Peter Amendola of Franklin and Anna F. Clarke and her husband Jim of Marlborough.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Gianna, Arya and Damien.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Tuesday May 7th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.
Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday May 6th, from 4-7PM.
