MONTGOMERY – Barker T. Torrey III, 72, of Montgomery, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving wife. He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on February 22, 1952, a beloved son of Barker T. Torrey Jr. and Catherine J. (Van Twisk) Torrey of Boise, ID. He was raised and educated in Hanover, Massachusetts, received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and pursued his master's degree at Keene State. He lived in New Jersey and Boise, ID and has lived in Montgomery for the last 21 years. He was last employed as the Safety Manager at Central Chevrolet in West Springfield. Barker enjoyed gardening and working in his yard and was a "jack of all trades." He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in West Springfield. Above all, he loved spending time with his wife and many friends. In addition to his parents, he leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Linda M. (Barkyoumb) Torrey. They were married on July 30, 1994 and they were blessed with over 29 years of happiness together. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Tara Torrey; and his dear sister, Gretchen Jordan who was Called Home in 2023. His funeral and burial will be private.
