Michael P. Belair, of Woburn, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 29th. He was 73. Born in Arlington, he was the cherished son of the late Francis A. and Dorothea (Mitchell) Belair. Michael had a long and prosperous career as a publisher for Harvard University for over 30 years.
Michael was a natural people person. He made friends everywhere he went. Michael had a humorous nature and he made everyone smile. He was the definition of a genuine stand-up guy. Michael’s biggest passion was being a Grampy. He absolutely enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandsons and granddaughter.
Michael was the devoted father of Michael P. Belair Jr., and his wife Brandi of Chelmsford, and his daughter Heather Moriarty and her husband Dan of Lowell. He was the loving Grampy of Rory Cannon, and Trey and Rhys Belair. He was the dear brother of Denise Irwin and David Belair both of Somersworth, NH. He was the loving companion of 24 years to Maureen Skinner. Michael is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit Michael’s family at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday, May 3rd from 4 to 7 PM, with a prayer service in the funeral home at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Michael’s name to The ALS Association
