Lola Mae Johnston Davis, 96, of Tifton passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at Legacy Village in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Davis at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Nathaniel McCalvin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Clay Childers, Brian Davis, Hunter Gaskins, Joel Presley, Matt Liles and Brandon Elrod will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 19, 1927, in Montezuma, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Andrew Trent Johnston and Allie Morris Johnston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay “H. C.” Davis, Jr.; one son-in-law, Ricky Burdette; five brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker, but her greatest joy was being a farmer’s wife. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown.
Mrs. Davis is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Deena Childers, Wayne and Sheila Davis and Greg and Kim Davis, all of Tifton; one daughter, Jan Burdette of Ty Ty; one brother and sister-in-law, Benny and Bonnie Johnston of Tifton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Clay and Kayla Childers, Allison and Joel Presley, Brian and Kelsey Davis, Hunter and Allison Gaskins, Ashley and Matt Liles and Amber and Brandon Elrod; twelve great-grandchildren, Kelsey Mullis, Joel Michael Presley, Jaden Grantham, Ashton Childers, Luke Presley, Paxton Childers, Adalyn Childers, Amelia Presley, Baylor Davis, Liam Liles, Isaac Elrod and Gray Gaskins; and one great-great grandson, Wilkes Griffis.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Legacy Village in Tifton and the Traditions Health Hospice Team for their tender care of Mrs. Davis.
