SPRINGFIELD – Ismay (Rose) Paltoo, 77, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at the Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care in Brockton surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Berbice, Guyana, South America on May 8, 1946, a beloved daughter of the late Albert E. and Maharania (Persaud) Rose. She was raised and educated in Guyana before immigrating to the United States around 1980, settling in the North End section of Springfield. She received her Associate's Degree from Springfield Technical Community College. She was employed as a Data Entry Specialist in the Annuities Department at the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company in Springfield. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She enjoyed tending to her beautiful rose garden at her home. Ismay was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to her family and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edison Paltoo. She leaves her three loving and devoted children, Cindy Paltoo of Springfield, Alison Paltoo of Brockton, and Irwin Paltoo and his wife, Kelly Arena, of Danbury, CT; her four cherished grandchildren who were the center of her life, Kailyn Hewitt, Logan Hewitt, Alina Paltoo and Spencer Paltoo; her twelve dear siblings, Elizabeth Teekasingh of Phoenix, AZ, Maureen Ballantine of South Weymouth, Shirley Rose, Carl Rose, Terrence Rose and his wife, Marilyn, William Rose, Agnes Ali and her husband, Raymond, Olga Somar and her husband, Reuben, and Patrick Rose and his wife, Alice, all of Springfield, Alfred Rose and his wife, Helen, and Ann Ullathorne, all of South Weymouth and Reginald Rose of San Francisco, CA; her longtime partner, Richard Mossey of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (the funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Burial will be private.
