Maureen (O'Donnell) Eaton, beloved mother, sister, and aunt of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Andover, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.
Maureen was born in 1946 to Charles and Dorothy O’Donnell of South Boston. She spent her life embodying love, compassion, and strength. Despite facing immense challenges, she carried herself with grace and resilience that inspired all who knew her.
In her journey through life, Maureen faced the profound sorrow of losing her husband, John, and her twin baby boys, Ross and Charles, as well as her two nephews, both named Timothy O'Donnell. Though their absence left a void, Maureen's unwavering spirit and love for her family sustained her.
Maureen's vibrant spirit extended beyond her family to her wide circle of friends in her community. She shared a passion for travel with many of them, exploring new destinations and creating cherished memories along the way. Maureen's adventurous nature and zest for life enriched the experiences of all who journeyed with her.
In addition to her love of travel, Maureen was known for her skillful game-playing. Whether it was a friendly game of International or Mexican Train, Maureen's competitive yet good-natured spirit shone through, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.
Maureen leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her devoted son, John (Sonja) Eaton of Pleasanton, CA, and her cherished grandchildren, Jack and Lauren. Their bond was a source of endless joy and pride for Maureen, who found immense happiness in their presence.
She is also survived by her brothers, Gerald (Julie) of Elkton, FL, Charles (Terry) of Arundel, ME, Robert of Spring Hill, FL, and Mark (Cheryl) of Franklin, MA. She also leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews. Maureen's family was her anchor, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her memory will forever be treasured in their hearts.
Maureen's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the strength found in family bonds. She touched the lives of many with her joyful essence and unwavering love. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Maureen's life will be held at Casper’s Funeral Home on May 4th, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in South Boston, MA, followed by a service at Knollwood Cemetery, 321 High St., Canton, MA. A Celebration of Life service will also be held this summer in New Jersey for all her dear friends.
