Obituary

Beverly A. Madan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Beverly Ann Madan (Hayward), age 89, of Mansfield, Massachusetts. Beverly passed away peacefully at the Doolittle Home in Foxborough, MA on Friday, April 26, surrounded by her loving family.

Beverly was born on April 27, 1934 in Brockton, MA. She spent her childhood in Bridgewater, MA., the daughter of Charlotte B. Hayward (Chapin) and Elwin W. Hayward. Beverly was also predeceased by her twin brother, Bertram A. Hayward, her brother, Gary Hayward, and her sister, Jean Jaconski. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Hayward.

Beverly graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1952. She worked at the Foxboro Company early in her career before becoming a stay-at-home mother for several years. After raising her young children, she returned to work in the insurance industry at the Don Currivan Insurance Agency, both in the Mansfield office and later in the Foxborough office. She then went back to work at the Foxboro Company as an administrator in the Employee Benefits department, where she retired in 1994.

She was an “Angel on Earth” for her daughter, Cathy L. Swails (Madan) and her husband, Rob, of Foxborough, MA, her son, William A. Madan and his wife, Laurie, of Laconia, NH, and her son, Gary K. Madan and his wife, Debbie, of Plainville, MA. She adored and doted on her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Swails of Mansfield, MA, Scott Swails of Norwood, MA, Timothy Madan of Boscawen, NH, Greg Madan of Laconia, NH, and Sean Maycock of Blackstone, MA. She was also the great grandmother to Zoey Maycock and Charlotte Swails.

Beverly was an avid and talented seamstress. Beverly and her late husband, Clyde, enjoyed many years at their beloved summer home in Bristol, ME and many happy winters in their home in Timber Pines, Spring Hill, FL. In every act of kindness, every word of wisdom, and every moment of compassion, Beverly’s spirit lives on in those who loved her most. Her time on Earth has passed, but her legacy of love and selflessness will continue to be an example for us all to follow. She is now our “Angel in Heaven”.

No funeral services have been scheduled at this time. A “Celebration of Life” will be held for the immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org .
