FITCHBURG – Diane B. (Lussier) Bourque, 79, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Leominster Hospital after a period of declining health. Her husband of 44 years, James R. Bourque, died in 2013.
She leaves 2 sons, Donald D. Bourque and his husband Paul J. Gould of Webster, and Jeffrey R. Bourque and his wife Dawn Mathieu of Lunenburg; a daughter, Robin I. Bourque and her companion Rejean J. “Reggie” Leblanc of Fitchburg; a sister, Linda M. Melanson and her husband Laurie, also of Fitchburg; her longtime companion Kenny DeCoteau with whom she lived; 4 grandchildren, Kaylee Hancock Murphy and her husband Derek Murphy, Nadine Bourque, Adrienne Bourque and Jonathan Joy and his wife Amanda; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Jean J. Manning last year.
She was born on May 18, 1944 in Fitchburg, the first child of Raymond A. “Parnell” Lussier and Blanche M. (Nolette) Lussier and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Bourque worked at Anwelt Shoe Company in Fitchburg as a stitcher before retiring.
She was a lifelong member of Saint Joseph Church. She enjoyed crocheting.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 30, in the Pieta Chapel at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 487 Clarendon Street. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM and again on Tuesday, April 30 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Pieta Chapel, prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
