Obituary

John C. Amicangioli Sr. of Newton Highlands and Sandwich died Sat July 15, 2006 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton. He was 72.
Born and raised in Newton he graduated from Newton High School in 1951 and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had worked as a machinist for many years including 11 years in the engineering dept. at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was very active with his union serving as President of IAM Local Lodge 1051, V.P. of District 38 AFL-CIO and was a member of the National Negotiating Committee for the AFL-CIO.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Carol (Bowman) Amicangioli, his children Angela Bibbo and her husband Nicholas of Needham, John C. Amicangioli Jr. and his wife Barbara of Norwood, James P. Amicangioli and his wife Cindy of Norfolk, Anthony D. Amicangioli and his wife Holly of Newton and Judith Shaw of Needham, his brother Fred W. Amicangioli Jr. and his wife Gertrude of Newton 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER on Wed July 19 at 9 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
