Virginia F. Abbott, 91, of Tifton passed away Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Ms. Abbott was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Harold Abbott Jr., Buster Mercer, Jimmy Thompson, Danny Thompson, Frankie Lynch and Roy Lynch served as pallbearers.
Born December 29, 1910, in Tift County, Ms. Abbott was the daughter of the late Ben Hill Abbott and Mary Bolton Abbott. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Eldorado Baptist Church.
Ms. Abbott is survived by one son, Robbie Abbott of Eldorado; one brother, Irwin Abbott of Tifton; two sisters, Evelyn Bartlett of Saint Petersburg, Florida and Ann Moore of Tifton; one granddaughter and her husband, Gina and Michael Pearce of Eldorado; and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Pearce of Eldorado.
