Obituary

Major Wayne Arrington, 64, of Tifton passed away Sunday, April 28, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. His funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Brantley Seymour and the Rev. Mark Squire officiating. Mr. Arrington was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Arrington's nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were J. R. Towe, Gene Taylor, John McGill, David Tawzer, Jeff Roach, Herman Autry, Bruce Copeland, Earl Copeland, Thomas Garren, Tommy Stone and Tommy Day.

Born June 27, 1937, in Cook County, Mr. Arrington was the son of the late Silas S. Arrington and Mamie Carr Arrington. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hulon Arrington and Julian Arrington. He was a technician at Shaw Industries in Tifton; and he was of the Holiness Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Arrington is survived by his wife, Be3verly Ann Reeves Arrington of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Betty Arrington of Glenville and James and Katie Arrington of Tifton; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Everett Jones of Moultrie, Eloise and Clarence Smith of Tifton and Mildred and John Davis of the West Berrien Community; and a sister-in-law, Betty Arrington.
