Obituary

Doyce Ray Abell, 49, of Tifton passed away Sunday, October 13, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. T. Manuel Johnson and the Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating. Mr. Abell was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Bryan Abell, chuck Green, Stacey Abell, Jimmy Watson, Leighton Walers, Ricky Tawzer and Dion Hale served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Abell's friends and the patrons of New Boy Bar and Grill in Tifton.

Born October 27, 1952, in Tift County, Mr. Abell was the son of the late Ray Winton Abell and Juanita Gray Abell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann Wilson Abell and one brother, Randy Abell. He was the owner of New Boy Grill and Bar in Tifton; and he was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Abell is survived by three brothers, Gary W. Abell, Jimmy Abell and Royce Abell, all of Tifton; and three sisters, Darlene Thomas of Berrien County, Sandra Walters of Douglas and Frances Soderlund of Tifton.
