Frances Lieupo Abbott, 84, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Roger Tucker and the Rev. Wayne Driskell officiating. Mrs. Abbot was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Brett Abbott, Bryce Abbott, Robin Abbott, Alan Parrish, William Arnold and Roger Walters served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were T. J. Hand, Johnny Harrell, members of the Retired Teachers Association, member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church and members of Poplar Arbor congregational Christian Church in Doerun.
Born March 7, 1917, in Cook County, Mrs. Abbott was the daughter of the late James Bunyan Lieupo and Annie harrell Lieupo. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Robert Henry Abbott, Sr., who passed away on February 19, 1994; and one brother, Jersey Lieupo. Before retiring, she taught school for 29 years in Tift County; and she was a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church. She was a member of the Golden Age Club in Tifton; the Brookfield Community Club; and a lifetime membership with the P.T.A. She had lived in Tift County most of her life.
Mrs. Abbott is survived by four sons, Robert Henry Abbott, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and jack Abbott, John Abbott and William Abbott, all of Tifton; and five grandchildren, Robin Abbott of Delray Beach, Florida, Kelly Parrish of Ty Ty and Becky Arnold, Bryce Abbott and Brett Abbott, all of Tifton.
