Laurine A. Condon
July 14,1932 - April 14, 2024
On April 14, 2024, Laurine (Turner) Condon rejoined her husband, Ed Condon on their eternal journey of love after fifteen years apart. The journey began innocently enough, growing up neighbors in Jamaica Plain as kids. Then during a fateful game of hide-and-seek, in their hiding place beneath the stairs, Laurine leaned in and kissed Ed. They were ten years old. The rest was written in the stars: Romance, marriage, children, and life-long companionship. And although the family she leaves behind will miss her terribly, we are happy to see her take her place alongside Ed once again.
And it’s not just family that will miss her. Together with Ed, she created a home where their children’s friends were all welcomed and could just be kids - swimming in the pool, fishing in the brook, jumping on the beds. Many a neighborhood kid sat on her back stairs for their summer haircut. It was a safe haven for anyone who needed it. As a result, she was a mother to many, not just her three boys.
With her passing, so ends an era in our family. The youngest of the “Turner Girls”, Laurine along with her sisters Alice, Pauline, and Mary (Leon), raised and loved a sprawling brood of children. They created an extended family of love, laughs, and light. We were extremely fortunate to be raised by these amazing women, all of whom have passed now.
There will not be a public memorial service at this time. But we encourage everyone who knew her to send her thoughts and prayers.
Safe travels, Laurine. Ed’s been waiting for you. We love you both.
