Mary Allena Baker Arnett, 103, of Tifton passed away Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Eddie Allen and the Rev. Robert Beggs officiating. Mrs. Arnett was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Pittman Barfield, Ben Flournoy, Tommy Stone, Darrell Moore, Tim Hall and Arthur Dowdy served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Stone and Wallace Dorden.
Born October 5, 1898, in Randolph County, Alabama, Mrs. Arnett was the daughter of the late Charlie Baker and Cora Parrish Baker Cardwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Bonner Arnett; one son, Herbert Arnett; and one brother. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Arnett is survived one son, Jesse H. Arnett of Tifton; one daughter, Mary Nell Arnett of Tifton; and three grandchildren.
