Obituary

Stephen McDaniel Alsobrook, 79, of Tifton passed away Friday, May 10, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Elder George Daunhauer officiating. Mr. Alsobrook was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Freddie Walker, Robby Drawdy, Stephen Drawdy, Ronnie Crozier, Bill Alexander and Steve Gill served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Branch and James Sturgis.

Born January 13, 1923, in Port Orange, Florida, Mr. Alsobrook was the son of the late James William Alsobrook and Drucilla Hickman Alsobrook. Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Animal Control; and he was a member of the Tifton Primitive Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II in the European Theatre; and he was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Mr. Alsobrook is survived by his wife, Zereta Sirman Alsobrook of Tifton; one son, Michael Alsobrook of Tifton; three daughters, Susan Drawdy of Omega, Judy Hayes of Tifton and Brenda Hunter of Athens; three brothers, James M. Alsobrook and Charles W. Alsobrook, both of Tifton and Martin C. Alsobrook of Prescott, Arizona; one sister, Cora Jones of Fort Valley; seven grandchildren, Robby Drawdy, Ginger Drawdy, Stephen Drawdy, Jerry Hayes, Stacy Alexander, BreAnna Hunter and Jimmy Hunter; and one great-grandson, Cabell Alexander.
