Obituary

Anou Lovan, age 40, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 19, 2024. He was born to Peng Lovan of Arkansas and Sengchanh Lovan. Anou grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lowell High School. For several years, Anou worked as a bus driver for the MBTA. Before that, he drove for Frito Lay.

Anou, a cherished son, brother, friend, and chef extraordinaire brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He was also a mentor to many. He was always the life of the party, bringing smiles to everyone's faces with his quick wit and jovial spirit. He had a natural gift for connecting with people, and his presence brightened every gathering he attended.

Food was not just a passion for Anou; it was his love language. He delighted in frying his famous chicken wings and eggrolls and grilling his steaks that brought people together, turning every meal into a celebration of friendship and family bonds.

Aside from his culinary talents, Anou also had a deep love for cars, finding joy in exploring new roads and experiencing the thrill of the winding roads. But above all, his greatest love was reserved for his family and friends. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences.

Anou is survived by his parents and five sisters: Naly Lovan and her companion Kahlil Bishop of New York, Manola Lovan and her fiancé Matt Montoya of Lawrence, Mathi Manivong and her husband Sengkham of Woonsocket, RI, Mena Lothi and her fiancé Erik Negron of Salem, and Lyna Lovan and her husband Mickael Tanious of Barbados. He also leaves behind one niece and four nephews: Viinai Lovan, Mayura Yaing, Selah Manivong, Zion Knox-Bishop, and Xavion Knox-Bishop.

Anou's light may have dimmed, but the warmth of his love and the joy he brought to others will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beloved soul who touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and culinary creations.

You are welcome to attend his calling hours on Thursday from 4pm until 7pm at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA.

His funeral will begin on Friday at 8am at McDonough Funeral Home, followed by procession for cremation.
