WORCESTER / RUTLAND___Robert W. Currier, 75, of Worcester, passed away with family by his side Sunday April 21, 2024 in UMASS - Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Alice C. (Serewicz) Currier, his children, Kelley J. Watts and her husband Brian of Oakham; Krista J. Quintiliani and her husband Domenic of Avon; Tracy L. Currier of Rutland and John R. Currier of Douglas; eight grandchildren, Kaitlin, Alexander, Benjamin, Emma, Caylee, Hallie, Lily and Logan, He also leaves brothers and sisters, Hal Currier, Ann Solomon, Kate Russo and C. Kevin Currier, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Currier and W. Michael Currier, Robert was born in Holden, a son of the late Harold P.J. and Phyllis (Wales) Currier and was raised in Rutland. He has lived in Worcester for many years. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School, Class of 1967. He also attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester.
Mr. Currier was a production machinery mechanic for Norton Co. for 41 years before retiring several years ago. After retiring Bob could be found in his garage working on projects or fixing anything and everything for his family and his friends.
Robert is a U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant E 7 in 1974. He was very proud of the years he served. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Bob was an avid camper and enjoyed golfing, Boston sports and was a Ford enthusiast. He was a snowmobiler, gardener and loved spending time around the campfire sharing cocktails and conversation with his many friends as well as making memories with his kids and grandkids at the campground.
The funeral will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
