Ansley Lafayette Thomas, 62, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2003, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tifton with James Cattell officiating. Mr. Thomas was laid to rest at Cumorah Cemetery in Douglas.
Fred Thomas Jr., James Sterling, Tony Coker, Gary Coker, Lewis Dean and Tyrone Dean served as pallbearers.
Born November 21, 1940, in Tift County, Mr. Thomas was the son of the late Berry Thomas and Edna Adams Thomas. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. He retired from the United States Air Force; and he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tifton. He had lived in Tifton since 1979.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Kathleen Sterling Thomas of Tifton; three sons, James Thomas of Walba, Minnesota, Tracy Thomas of Lake City, Florida and Robert Thomas of Tifton; and three grandchildren.
