Paul N. McGoniagle, a longtime resident of Medford and formerly of Somerville, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at his home in Medford. He was 76 years of age.
Paul was born in Somerville on November 18, 1947, a son of the late Patrick McGoniagle and Mary (Geary) McGoniagle. He grew up in Somerville where he was educated at St. Clement's Parochial School and then graduated from St. Clement's High School in 1965. Paul then attended Suffolk University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in teaching. He taught at St. Clements School in Medford/Somerville for 10 years then taught at Newbury College in Boston from 1983 to 2012 and finished his career while working at the Newbury College library. During the 1980's, Paul also worked as a travel agent.
Paul was an avid stamp collector, He enjoyed photography, traveled all over the world, but by far his favorite place was Ireland. He also loved get togethers with his family and friends.
Paul is the beloved son of the late Patrick McGoniagle and Mary (Geary) McGoniagle. He is the devoted brother of Marie "Nancy" Francini, William McGoniagle and the late Kathleen "Chickie" Mansfield, James "Jim" McGoniagle, John McGoniagle, Robert McGoniagle and Stephen McGoniagle. Paul is also survived by his many loving and devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews located throughout Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Colorado, Ireland and Italy as well as many wonderful friends.
