WORCESTER______ Stephanie (Dziewietin) Armstrong, 88, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, April 20th, 2024.
Stephanie was born in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Sophia (Kwiatkowski) and Peter Dziewietin. She grew up in the Green Island section of Worcester after moving there at a young age. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School for Girls. Stephanie worked at Central Kitchen Restaurant in downtown Worcester for 22 years, and later in the kitchen at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 2011 at the age of 75.
Stephanie leaves her children, a daughter, Kathy Armstrong of Worcester, and a son, John Armstrong and his wife Lynn of Holden, two brothers, Edward Dziewietin and his wife Pat of Auburn, and Walter Dziewietin of Arkansas, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Armstrong, who passed in 1965, and four sisters, Wanda Dziewietin, Hedwig Wood, Sophie Magnuson, and Janina LaBossiere.
Stephanie enjoyed studying the American legal system, frequently watching Judge Judy. She was an avid reader, mystery novels being a favorite. She greatly enjoyed trips to the casino. Her primary focus in life, however, was her children. Stephanie lived a difficult life, but always provided her children with absolute and unconditional love.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Abby’s House, 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609, Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester, MA 01610, or Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
