CHICOPEE – Irene (Breault) Rider, 90, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Lifecare of Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Stebbins Street in Chicopee on October 4, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late Edgar W. and Mary C. (Cimbala) Breault. She was raised in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of Aldenville. She was a hard working and dedicated mother who took great pride in raising her children. She was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She enjoyed playing bingo and camping, and was a member of the American Bosch Travel Club. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Willard H. “Bill” Rider, Jr. who was Called Home on September 14, 2021. They were married on February 2, 1952 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 69 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving children, Ann M. Pouliot and her husband, Gerald, of Chicopee, Henry R. Rider and his wife, Sandy, of Vinton, VA, Lucille T. Breen and her husband, John, of South Hadley and Debbie A. Weibel and her husband, Mike, of Chicopee; her loving son-in-law, Rick Morin of Chicopee; her eight cherished grandchildren, Lynn Riopelli and her husband, Alan, Amy Pouliot, Kevin Pouliot and his partner, Becky Schnauber, Scott Morin and his wife, Kiley, Shawn Morin, Sarah Rider, Dylan Suchenicz, and Rylee Suchenicz; her ten cherished great grandchildren; her dear brother, Paul Breault and his wife, Kathy, of Chicopee; her dear sister, Mary Deyo and her husband, Rob, of Buena Vista, VA; her two dear sisters in law, Virginia O’Rourke of Northampton, and Linda Breault of Lakeland, FL; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her loving daughter, Cynthia J. “Cindy” Morin who was Called Home on July 22, 2011; her two dear brothers, Edgar Breault and his wife, Pearl, and Daniel Breault; and her dear sister, Theresa LeMaire and her husband, Al. Her family would like to thank the staff at Lifecare of Wilbraham and Beacon Hospice for the care and comfort they extended to Irene and her family. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
