Frank E. Currul, 77, of Attleboro Falls, died Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Cambridge on January 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Frank and Edith (Pierce) Currul.
Frank was a resident of Attleboro Falls for the past 24 years and formerly resided in Medway for many years. He grew up in Hull and graduated from Hull High School. Frank earned his associate degree while working two jobs and raising his family.
Frank proudly served in the US Air Force for three and a half years during the Vietnam War.
Before his retirement, Frank worked in human resources at the Norfolk County Sherriff’s Office for 10 years. He spent most of his career at Polaroid and was one of the last dedicated employees remaining until the company filed for bankruptcy in 2001. He also worked many bartending jobs at the Surf, and Blue Bunny in Hull, the Medway VFW, and lastly, he devoted many nights and weekends to Lantana in Randolph where he made many lasting friendships.
Frank was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Bruins. He had many good friends from his childhood in Hull that he remained close with until his passing. He loved an occasional trip to the casino. He loved attending his grandkids' athletic events, especially baseball unless he got ejected for passionately contesting an umpire's call.
He is survived by his five children: Frank Currul, Jr. & family of Wolfeboro NH, Jeffrey Currul & family of Medway, Brandon Currul & family of Medway, Melissa McDonald & family of Braintree and Amiee Charlton & family of Franklin plus many grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister Brenda Howard & family of Georgia, his brother Steven Currul & family of Duxbury, several nieces and nephews, his significant other of 16 years Donna "Winnie" Connor of Quincy, and her grandson Christopher.
Frank was predeceased by brother Doug Currul and sister Linda Currul.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin, MA on Thursday, April 25th from 4-6 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 3rd at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish – St. Ann Church, 208 Samoset Avenue in Hull at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hull Village Cemetery with military honors.
