Alfio C. Taddeo, 81, of Franklin, died peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024 at his home.
Born in Milford on October 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Francesco and Antoinette (Nanni) Taddeo.
Alfio was a lifelong resident of Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1960.
He proudly served the town of Franklin as a police officer from 1972 until his retirement in 2001. He was also the animal control officer in Franklin and Bellingham for many years.
Alfio was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Franklin Rod and Gun Club and the Montville Rod and Gun Club in Montville, Maine. He enjoyed farming and gardening and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Denise Spear and her significant other Stephen of Woonsocket and Denise’s son Michael and his wife Ashley and their children Sophia and Luca and Denise’s daughter Ashley; Carlo Taddeo of Franklin and his daughter Amanda and her significant other Derek and Amanda’s children Dominick and Ryleigh; Steven Taddeo of Franklin; and Tracey Taddeo and her husband Keith of Franklin and Tracey’s son, Jason and his children Jayda and Kassidy, and Tracey’s other son Joseph and his wife Jenna and their children Emerson and Layla, and also Tracey’s stepchildren Alli, Noah, Erin and Owen.
Alfio is also survived by his siblings, Rosa, Ronald, Carol and Eddie, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Axle.
He was the brother of the late Micholena, Olympia, Dorothea, Francis, Rocco, Americo, Christopher and Annette.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, April 23 from 3 -7 p.m. at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
A celebration of life will be held for Alfio on Wednesday, April 24 from 1 - 5 p.m. at the Franklin Rod and Gun Club, 53 Florence Street in Franklin.
