Ann Marie (Richardson) Ginese, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; retired nurse and cherished friend to many, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 12th in Life Care Center of Auburn, after a resilient six month battle against lung and brain cancer.
Lifelong resident of Worcester and Auburn, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Doris H. (Maccabee) Richardson. She leaves two daughters, Tina Santley and her husband, Scott of Leicester and Patricia Ginese of Watertown; five grandchildren, Melissa Santley, Christopher Santley, Amanda Lison and her partner, Kevin Carelli, Bianca Ortiz, Victor Ortiz; and two great-grandchildren, Nikolas Lison and James Moriarty. She also leaves her former spouse and close friend, Patrick Ginese of Worcester; and lifelong devoted family friend, Lois Ducharme of Millbury. She was predeceased in life by beloved daughter Lisa Ann Ginese of Worcester in 2016; son-in-law Hector Ortiz in 2015; and her long-term companion, Henry Andrew Fafard, in 2011.
She graduated from Classical High School, Worcester in 1959, driven by a deep desire to help others and make a difference, she pursued her love of the nursing profession to attend the former Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She proudly received her nursing diploma in 1967. She was a Registered Nurse for Worcester City Hospital; and the Jewish Home for the Aged in Worcester before she semi-retired to offer visiting nurse services or private duty in-home care for seniors. Ann was active in the Red Hat Society and the Auburn Senior Center, where she developed many wonderful friendships and shared travel adventures. In her spare time, she most enjoyed family time and celebrations. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, played cribbage, loved Ogunquit Beach vacations, and baked her famous Italian cookies every Christmas. She will be remembered for her generosity, sense of fun and love of life.
Calling hours for Ann will be on Sunday April 28th from 1:00pm - 2:30pm, in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
