Bruce A. Durgin, 72, of Acushnet, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at home. He was the husband of Jean M. (St.Pierre) Durgin, they shared 50 years of marriage.
Mr. Durgin was born in New Bedford, son of the late Edwin and Doris (Morency) Durgin and had been a longtime resident of Acushnet. He served his country in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. Prior to retirement, he worked as a truck driver for Sid Wainer & Sons, New Bedford. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, his grandchildren and his children.
Survivors along with his wife include his 3 daughters: Coralee Walker of New Bedford, Jennifer Dion of New Bedford, and Aimee Durgin and her significant other David Barboza of Acushnet; 3 sisters: Cheryl Durgin, Danielle Sylvia and Michelle St. Don, all of New Bedford; his former son-in-law: Stephen Dion; 2 grandchildren: Keathan Durgin and Watson Barboza; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Jeannette Taylor, Donna Sylvia and Christine Dube.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Kirby Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a committal service at 10:45 A.M. at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
