Judy F. Collier Dowdy, 67, of Ocilla passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula with the Rev. William Davis and the Rev. Cory Thompson officiating. Mrs. Dowdy will be laid to rest at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Chula. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Daniel Rodriguez, Fredo Rodriguez, Miguel Hernandez, Payton Leverett, Richard Lewis and Luis Rodriguez will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 2, 1956, in Ben Hill County, Mrs. Dowdy was the daughter of the late Thomas Leonard Collier and Ruby Davis Collier. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Danielle Nicole Dowdy and Paula Renae Dowdy Pendarvis. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula.
Mrs. Dowdy is survived by her husband, Nathan Dowdy of Ocilla; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Luis Rodriguez of Tifton; one sister, Mary Dykes of Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren, Laykn Leverett, Lauren Pendarvis, Logan Pendarvis, Jordan Lewis, Cameron Lewis, Fredo Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez and Veronica Rodriguez; and seven great-grandchildren.
